Lake Carriers' Association
For more than 200 years, commercial shipping has been an integral part of the Great Lakes economy. The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway combine to form the longest deep-draft navigation system in the world, extending 2,300 miles into the North American heartland. The system includes the five Great Lakes and their connecting channels. We are here to promote the common interests of U.S.-flag vessel operators on the Great Lakes by creating change and recognition through legislative and regulatory matter.
Mission
Our mission is to promote the common interests of U.S.-flag vessel operators on the Great Lakes by creating change and recognition through legislative and regulatory matters. We aim to educate legislators, regulators and the general public on the role of Great Lakes shipping in the American economy and maximize the efficiencies of waterborne commerce in a manner that respects our environment.
