Great Lakes Iron Ore Trade Up 6.4 Percent in April
CLEVELAND—Iron ore shipments on the Great Lakes totaled 5.7 million tons in April, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to a year ago. Loadings were also 13.8 percent ahead of the month’s 5- year average.
Shipments from U.S. ports totaled 5.1 million tons, an increase of 9.2 percent compared to a year ago. However, loadings at Canadians dipped slightly.
