Great Lakes Iron Ore Trade Up 6.4 Percent in June
CLEVELAND—Iron ore shipments on the Great Lakes totaled 6.3 million tons in June, an increase of 2.7 percent over May, and an increase of 6.4 percent compared to a year ago.
June loadings were up 10 percent compared to the month’s 5-year average.
Shipments from U.S. ports totaled 5,559,796 tons, an increase of 6.3 percent compared to a year ago. Loadings at Canadian ports rose 11.7 percent to 644,579 tons.
